Real Rent Hassanamisco

Real Rent is a call to people who live and work on Nipmuc homelands in Massachusetts to make voluntary contributions in recognition of the land they occupy and benefit from today. It's a practice of recognition and reciprocity — support for the present-day Nipmuc community, and an acknowledgment of a presence that never left.

Our History

Long before the towns and cities of Massachusetts were established, the Nipmuc people lived across these homelands — caring for the land, governing communities, and sustaining a deep relationship with it. The Hassanamisco Nipmuc people continue to be here, preserving culture, identity, and community despite centuries of displacement and change.
